It took just one hour for Mohammed Kudus to equal a record at Tottenham Hotspur during his Premier League debut against Burnley on August 16.

Spurs, under new manager Thomas Frank, produced an excellent display to dispatch the newly-promoted side 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as several players dazzled for the home side.

Richarlison scored twice, with Kudus assisting him for each of those strikes, according to Flashscore.

The ex-Everton forward calmly slotted in Kudus' low cutback in the 10th minute, giving Spurs an early lead and settling opening-day nerves.

Once again, it was the brilliant Mohammed Kudus who provided the assist for the second goal, gliding past his marker on the right flank before whipping a cross into the box.

The 28-year-old Richarlison set himself up and launched into a stunning scissor kick, echoing his iconic goal for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup. The strike sent both teammates and fans into a wild celebration.

The goal itself was worthy of early Goal of the Season chatter, but the context makes it even more special: it capped a remarkable 17-pass team move in which every Spurs player got a touch—an almost unbeatable combination of style and substance.

Europa League final hero, Brennan Johnson, then made it 3-0 six minutes after the hour mark as Tottenham clinched a 3-0 triumph.

While Richarlison grabbed the headlines with a brace, it was the Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus who truly stole the show, delivering a performance that more than justified Tottenham’s investment and eased any concerns over James Maddison’s injury.

Matching a record set by Maddison, one of Spurs’ most influential signings in recent years, is a powerful statement, and perhaps a sign that things are aligning perfectly for Tottenham’s new era.

Kudus, who recently aimed a subtle dig at West Ham, has long been known as a creative force. He showed flashes of that brilliance at West Ham, combining quick thinking with sharp technical skill to elevate those around him. And now, he’s wasted no time proving he can do the same in North London.

Kudus shines in duel against Nuno Mendes

As reported by YEN.com.gh, Mohammed Kudus delivered a standout display in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, clearly getting the better of Paris Saint-Germain full-back Nuno Mendes.

In repeated one-on-one situations, Kudus outpaced and outmuscled Mendes with ease, proving he’s more than capable of rising to elite-level challenges. His dominant performance didn’t go unrecognised as he picked up some good ratings.
