Although the Magpies had a higher bid accepted by RB Leipzig, the Slovenian forward chose Old Trafford over St. James’ Park.

United confirmed the transfer on Saturday, announcing Sesko’s deal runs until the summer of 2030.

Sesko explains why he chose Man United

Speaking in his first interview as a United player, Sesko revealed the reasons behind his decision.

He said the club’s “special history” and exciting “future project” convinced him it was the right move, adding that the atmosphere felt like “a family environment” from the moment he arrived.

"The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future.
"When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon."
Sesko continued: "From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created. It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions.

Sesko also expressed his eagerness to work under Ruben Amorim and help United compete for major trophies again.

"I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben [Amorim] and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together."

4 key rules Sesko must follow at Man United

Since replacing Erik ten Hag, Portuguese gaffer Amorim has wasted no time in setting firm standards to turn United’s fortunes around.

One of his first directives was to ban overly complex instructions from his coaching staff, insisting that simplicity should come before the delivery of any tactical information.

Amorim also put an end to players using international breaks as personal holidays, a move prompted by incidents last November when Marcus Rashford and Casemiro travelled to the United States for leisure after being left out of their national squads.

“We as a club have to set the standards,” Amorim said. “It’s my decision how many days off they get, and whether they can travel or not. That responsibility starts with me.”

Further measures include banning food in the dressing room on matchdays to maintain peak fitness levels.

The fourth rule is tasking losing sides in training sessions with gathering all equipment used that day — a rule aimed at instilling humility and responsibility within the squad.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Cristiano Ronaldo could make a future return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2021, but his highly anticipated comeback was short-lived, lasting only 15 months. He left the club in November 2022 after a dispute with manager Erik ten Hag.
