A supercomputer has predicted the outcome of the UEFA Europa Conference League final, which takes place today (May 28, 2025).

Chelsea has enjoyed a positive 2024/25 season and would be looking to add another piece of European silverware and make history.

On the opposite side is the Spanish side, Real Betis, who are also aiming for the title when they meet at the Tarczyński Arena Wrocław in Poland.

Chelsea eye history in Conference League final

Having already secured a fourth-place finish in the Premier League to return to Champions League football for the first time in three years, Enzo Maresca's men are now looking to cap their season with a European trophy.

In recent years, however, La Liga sides have had the upper hand over English teams in continental finals. Spanish clubs have also won the last nine major European deciders against their English counterparts.

The last Premier League team to break that streak was Liverpool in 2001, after edging Alavés 5-4 in a dramatic UEFA Cup final. Chelsea would be aiming to upset tradition during their game on Wednesday.

That weight of history looms, but the West London club has the chance to make its own. Victory in Wrocław would end the curse and place the London club in rarefied air.

The club has lifted the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, the Champions League, and the Europa League. Chelsea could become the first side to win four different major European competitions.

Real Betis plans to stop Chelsea

Their opponents won’t make it easy, though. Real Betis have endured a far more challenging route to reach this point in the ECL.

Supercomputer predicts Real Betis vs Chelsea winner

As anticipation builds, data analysts have also entered the fray. According to Opta’s supercomputer, Chelsea are slim favourites to lift the trophy, with a 51.1% chance of securing the win in regulation time.

Real Betis, meanwhile, have been given a 25.4% probability of triumphing within 90 minutes, while 23.5% of the simulations have foreseen the Conference League final going into extra-time, or even a shootout.

In a related report, YEN.com.gh reported on similar insights from Opta’s supercomputer, which had predicted the outcome of the Europa League final.

Tottenham, who went on to win the trophy, were placed slightly ahead with a 50.3% probability, compared to Manchester United, who had a 49.7% chance.
