Samuel Aboagye’s widow, Abigail Salami has evoked sadness on social media after she shared an emotional post lamenting his death.

Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East, Samuel Aboagye, was killed in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Aboagye, who was a Deputy Director for the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), died alongside four other high-profile government officials and three military officers.
The group were headed to Obuasi for an event on tackling illegal mining when they crashed into the Sikaman Forest in the Ashanti Region.

In a post shared to TikTok on Monday, August 18, Samuel Aboagye’s widow, Abigail Salami, mourned his tragic passing in a heartbreaking post.
She shared a photo depicting what happened during their wedding, with the song Wo Ne Ma Houden by Deacom Sammy Baah in the background.

The photo showed Samuel Aboagye and his beautiful bride seated with another of the helicopter crash victims, Alhaji Limuna Muniru, also in the frame, with a sorrowful caption accompanied by weeping emojis.
“The plan was to meet you and Alhaji Muniru in Atlanta today… where are you, my best friend? 😭😭😭😭#samuelaboagye #fallensoldier.” she wrote.

Samuel Aboagye’s wife shares his last message
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Samuel Aboagye’s wife evoked sadness as she shared the last ever message he sent her before his death.
Abigail Salami delivered a tribute to her late husband, which was read on her behalf, during the state funeral held at the Black Star Square on Friday, August 15.
Salami wept as Aboagye’s last romantic message was read. He had sent it to her on the morning of the crash, professing his love one last time.
