According to the Ghana Police Service, the arrest forms part of their investigation into the viral TikTok video containing death threats against Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama.

In a statement released on Facebook, police indicated that Ofori and Abiwu were assisting with ongoing investigations, as they continue efforts to apprehend other individuals believed to be connected to the threatening video.

The threats were made about the tragic helicopter crash that occurred on August 6 at the Sikaman Forest in the Adansi South District, near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, which claimed eight lives, including senior government officials and military personnel.
