Ghanaian politician Alexander Afenyo Markin has showcased his love for hymns yet again.

The minority leader was seen joyously enjoying the performance of a choir he reportedly invited to his private residence.

In a video published by Markins Official, a page dedicated to Afenyo Markin's works and life as a politician, the MP was captured in high spirits, leading the choir.

The MP for Effutu Constituency recited the lyrics of MHB Hymn 896 Now praise we great and famous men, before the choir began to perform.

The hymn is normally sung on All Saints Day, a Catholic solemnity observed in November every year.

As a devout Catholic, the powerful lyrics which celebrate the achievements and contributions of notable figures throughout history, recognising their service and impact on society and God's glory, resonated well with Afenyo Markin.

The choir also performed other popular Fante hymns and cultural songs, which influenced Afenyo Markin to showcase his dancing skills.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Minority Leader Afenyo Markin and his wife had attended the state funeral for the eight victims of the August 6, 2025, Obuasi helicopter crash.

The politician's wife looked beautiful, elegant, collected and stylish as she made a rare public appearance alongside her popular husband. She displayed a demure demeanour beside her partner, who was his usual boisterous and confident self.
