Late Air Force pilot Peter Anala’s sister-in-law has opened up on his kind nature following his tragic death in a helicopter crash.

Wing Commander (formerly Squadron Leader) Peter Bafemi Anala of the Ghana Armed Forces was killed in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, while flying a group of dignitaries from Accra to Obuasi to attend a mining conference.
The crash occurred in the Sikaman Forest in the Adansi Afuokrom District of the Ashanti Region.
All eight people on the flight, including two cabinet ministers - Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed - perished in the crash.

In the wake of the tragedy, a state funeral was held for the victims of the crash at the Black Star Square in Accra on Friday, August 15.
The deceased were subsequently buried at the military cemetery, where Peter Anala's widow emotionally tossed her wedding ring into the grave as a symbolic goodbye to her husband.
Peter Anala’s sister pays tribute after tragedy
In a sorrowful video shared to TikTok, Peter Anala’s sister-in-law spoke about how kindly he treated her while he was still alive.
She said when her husband was not around, the late Wing Commander stood in for him and made sure she was well taken care of.

Anala’s sister-in-law also questioned why a good person like him had to lose his life at such a young age.
“They say God knows best, and we can’t question him why he took you away from us, and that what we should do is to pray for your beautiful soul wherever it is now. Thank you for everything you did for me when your cousin wasn’t around; you stood in for him to make sure I was okay. I am grateful🙏,” she said.

Peter Anala’s family speaks on demise
Previously, YEN.com.gh also reported that Peter Anala’s family opened up on a disturbing dream he had before his death, according to the family representative, who read a tribute to the late airman at the state funeral on August 15, 2025, at the Black Star Square.
He said that Anala told his mother while in the UK for a family visit earlier this year that he had a disturbing dream which was so unsettling that it required prayers. The disclosure was made during the tribute reading for the eight victims of the helicopter crash.
