Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, in a deeply personal and emotional tribute, has shared some memories with two of the helicopter crash victims.

In a recent interview, the MP shared the personal bond she shared with her late colleagues, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and D Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
With sorrows in her eyes, she painted a close image of how these colleagues became cherished friends whose support and humour left an indelible mark on her life and career.
Her most touching anecdote centred on Dr Omane Boamah, whom she described as a 'fine, wonderful guy' and a steadfast friend.

She disclosed that he was the very first person to inform her of her appointment as Deputy Minister for Transport.
According to her, he broke the news to her in a text message sent at 3:30 a.m.
"I remember when my name was called... he was the first person to call. In fact, he sent me a message at 3:30 a.m. congratulating me. I said, 'Honourable, please don't tease me', because there had been a lot of stuff going on."
She explained her initial disbelief, but the gentle insistence of Dr Omane Boamah ultimately convinced her.
Helicopter crash victims' funeral: Jomoro MP mourns
The Jomoro MP explained that Dr Omane Boamah had been a pillar of support during her prolonged court case and the subsequent election, promising her that he would 'make sure the seat would be protected'.
Parliamentarian Affo-Toffey’s fond memories also extended to Dr Murtala Muhammed.

She remembered him as a very intelligent man and a formidable presence on the floor of Parliament.
In her words.
"When he stands up to debate and to do things... he does it excellently... with dignity."
Concluding her tribute, Affo-Toffey called for prayers for the families, the President, and the nation, acknowledging the difficult road ahead.
"It's not been easy for all of us, especially those of us that had that personal relationship. We are praying that the good Lord himself will give them eternal rest and also console the whole nation. We have to rise as a country."
Beyond his professional acumen, she shared a glimpse into their playful friendship, narrating a personal nickname he had for her.

Dr Dramani Bukari recalls news of tragedy
YEN.com.gh had earlier reported that Dr Dramani Bukari tearfully shared how he learned about the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals.
According to him, he received a phone call from MP Yusif Sulemana, informing him about the involvement of Alhaji Limuna Muniru in the fatal chopper crash.
Despite immense sadness, Dr Bukari said he found comfort in the victims' exemplary lives and the national support shown in the long days after their loss.
