A TikTok user believed to be the daughter of Samuel Sarpong has shared a touching tribute in honour of his late father after Ghana's recent helicopter crash that claimed his life.

The young woman, Sarpomaah, posted a carousel on August 13, capturing some of her father's profound moments.

The emotional post had some photos of Samuel Sarpong bonding with his wife and children.

The late government official's daughter accompanied her tribute with the caption,

"You don’t deserve this at all, my lovely dad 💔💔 I miss you each and every day💔 Rest well, my Angel."

Sarpomah's tribute eulogising her father, Samuel Sarpong, who was once a regional minister, has evoked sadness as Ghanaians mourn and reflect on the national tragedy a week ago.

Before his death, Dr Samuel Sarpong held the position of the National Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress.

Dr. Samuel Sarpong and seven other individuals were aboard a Ghana Air Force Harbin Z-9 helicopter when it crashed at Adansi Sikaman, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

They were attending the official launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi before the tragic incident.

All eight passengers, comprising three military officers and five top government officials who were aboard the helicopter, died.

The fatalities included Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Dr Alhaji Murtala Muhammed, MP for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment, Science & Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, and Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate.

Samuel Sarpong's son speaks after his demise

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Samuel Sarpong sent a message to his children before he boarded the flight.

On the morning of the event, the son of the late NDC bigwig said his dad sent him and his other siblings photos of himself and other persons set to attend the event.

He added that his dad then sent them a photo of himself on board the Z-9 helicopter, along with a message confirming that the helicopter had taken off.
