Popular Ghanaian political commentator, Appiah Stadium, has expressed grief over the passing of eight people who perished in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), especially Dr Omane Boamah.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) fanatic took to his social media to pen down a touching tribute for the late Minister.

Dr Omane Boamah and seven others have passed away

Dr Omane Boamah, the Defence Minister, was among eight people who passed away in the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash.

The team of eight, made up of two government officials and three crew members, perished while en route to an event aimed at curbing illegal mining in the country.

Unfortunately, the helicopter heading for Obuasi reportedly crashed into a tree and caught fire, leading to the demise of all who were on board.

Aside from Dr Omane Boamah, the Tamale Central Member of Parliament, Murtala Muhammed was also onboard the aircraft.

Also, the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru, former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Samuel Sarpong, and former legislator Samuel Aboagye were involved in the crash.

Three army personnel, namely Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, were also on board.

Appiah Stadium reacts to Dr Omane Boamah

Appiah Stadium, who described Dr Omane Boamah as one of his favourite Ministers under the Mahama administration, was deeply hurt by his loss. He said his demise was a big blow to him.

Appiah Stadium was subsequently captured wailing over the loss of the Minister.
