Apostle Kofi Amponsah has called for the immediate release of Patricia Asiedua, aka Agradaa, following the tragic Ghana Armed Forces helicopter accident.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the Ghanaian pastor associated the tragic incident with the 15-year incarceration of the embattled, controversial evangelist.

He claimed God had heard her pleas and was fighting for her. According to the leader and founder of Heaven Way church, more of these incidents should be expected in the country if Agradaa remained in jail.

He also stated that the government should immediately release the evangelist if it wants peace to govern the nation.

Ghana mourns eight deaths in GAF accident

Ghana has been thrown into a state of mourning following the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) accident, which claimed the lives of eight people.

Two top government officials, Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, were onboard the helicopter.

Aside from these, the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru, Former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Samuel Sarpong, and Former legislator Samuel Aboagye, were involved in the crash.

Three army personnel, namely Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, were also on board.

Should Agradaa be freed over GAF crash?

Following the tragic incident, a pastor has asked the state to free Evangelist Mama Pat, who was previously a priestess.

He argued that Agradaa has been jailed for duping people; however, she is not the only corrupt person in the country.

The preacher noted that there were many corrupt people in the country, and even among government officials.

He contended that if these officials are not being persecuted, then Agradaa should be freed.

Sad Scenes at Jubilee House after Helicopter crash

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that the atmosphere was one of sorrow after Jubilee House confirmed the Obuasi helicopter crash.

Some colleagues of politicians Dr Omane Boamah and Murtala Mohammed could not contain their tears and had to be consoled.

Ghanaians have expressed their deepest condolences to the grieving families and the nation after the tragedy rocked the nation.
