The demise of the Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba has plunged the country into sorrow.
Already, the head of the family, Kofi Owusu, has stated that the family would recognise both Priscilla Ofori Atta, alias Odo Broni, and Akosua Serwaa as widows during the funeral rites.

A song currently making waves on social media in the aftermath of this is Daddy Lumba's popular tune Nya Abotare Twen Awurade.
The song, released in October 2023, celebrated Odo Broni for sticking by him and being a good wife and companion through his tribulations.
He opened up about his health struggles and touched on the massive support he received from his second wife throughout that period.
Daddy Lumba also expressed his appreciation to the twin brother of Odo Broni, Prince Ofori Atta, for his support when he was not well.

The song came at a time when both Odo Broni and Akosua Serwaa were dealing with the loss of their partner at the age of 60.
Details of Daddy Lumba's passing
The death of Daddy Lumba was announced by the legal representative of the musician on July 26, 2025. The musician passed away at the Bank Hospital located in Cantonments, Accra, after a brief period of illness.
Notable names who have visited the residence of the late highlife legend to show their support to the grieving family include former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, John Agyekum Kufuor, Osei Kwame Despite, Kwaku Oteng, and NPP members of parliament such as Afenyo Markins.
Other dignitaries who have also offered their support include Becca, Kojo Antwi, John Dumelo, Amakye Dede, Obaapa Christy, and the daughters of Glorious Jesus, among others. At the time of writing this report, the video had received over 9,000 views and 600 comments.
