Upon his visit, he was led to the living room of the legend, and the unexpected was spotted.
Sarkodie’s photo frame was seen on the wall among a couple of other frames.
This picture, taken over a decade ago when they met to record Odo, highlights the father-son bond Sarkodie and Daddy Lumba shared before the latter's death.

Sarkodie and Daddy Lumba's bond
The most decorated musician in Ghana, Sarkodie, has always deemed Daddy Lumba a legend and an idol, one of the artists who motivated his musical journey.
Growing up, Sarkodie, known in private life as Michael Owusu Addo, listened to Lumba’s songs and learned from his lyrical storytelling and extraordinary style.
In 2014, Daddy Lumba and Sarkodie collaborated on the song titled Odo, which was featured on Sarkodie's Mary album.
For Sarkodie, getting to feature a legend like Daddy Lumba was a big achievement.
During one of Daddy Lumba’s last concerts, “Valentine with Daddy Lumba,” which took place on February 15, 2025, at the Grand Arena, Sarkodie was seen in good spirits with the legend.

Daddy Lumba reported dead
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, aka Daddy Lumba, had been confirmed dead.
His demise initially seemed like a rumour until his family, through his radio station DLFM, released an official statement confirming it.
The funeral details of Daddy Lumba are still pending and will be communicated by the family. A vigil in honour of the deceased legend will be held on August 2, 2025, at Independence Square.
