NPP Delegates Conference

One major happening at this year's conference was that the delegates pondered over 59 proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.

Top among the proposed amendments is the expansion of the number of delegates involved in electing the party's presidential candidate, suggesting a potential reform of the controversial Electoral College.

Joseph Osei Owusu, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, explained that the 59 motions resulted from a thorough review process involving more than 300 proposed amendments submitted to the party’s Amendments Committee.

These amendments are expected to transform the party's structures, enhance grassroots mobilisation, and refine its democratic processes, all in a bid to strengthen the party for the 2028 elections.

Some 5,500 delegates from across the country are expected to be present at the conference.
