Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has made his first public appearance after his release from EOCO detention.

In a viral TikTok video seen by YEN.com.gh on Friday, August 22, 2025, the SM boss was arriving at an undisclosed area in East Legon with his newly purchased purple Lamborghini Urus.

Shatta Wale received a rousing reception from a few fans who rushed to his new vehicle to celebrate his return to the public after his detention at the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The dancehall musician beamed with excitement as he alighted from his new unregistered purple Lamborghini Urus and hugged a fan before interacting with others at the premises.

Shatta Wale's purple Lamborghini arrives in Ghana

Recall that Shatta Wale's purple Lamborghini Urus landed at the Tema port on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 and was unloaded from its container.

The SM boss had previously announced the acquisition of the vehicle in June, with footage of the new car being offloaded from a long trailer into a huge container on the streets in the US before its shipment to Ghana.

Shatta Wale made the big announcement at a time when there was significant scrutiny into his source of wealth after his godfather, Kofi Boat, was arrested by the US law enforcement agents in Ghana over alleged financial crimes.

Footage showed members of the dancehall musician's management team, including his Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sammy Flex, at the port to claim possession of the new luxurious vehicle.

The purple Lamborghini Urus was eventually transported via a truck to Shatta Wale's mansion at Trasacco Valley, where he and his team celebrated in grand style on the premises.

Shatta Wale's detention and release from EOCO

Shatta Wale was detained at the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to assist in investigations into the purchase of his 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which was recently seized by the agency.

According to an official statement from the financial crime investigative body, the SM boss was questioned for nearly four hours and was unable to prove his ownership of the luxurious car.

Shatta Wale was released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in the evening on Thursday, August 21, 2025, after he was able to meet his bail conditions, following its reduction from GH¢10 million to GH¢5 million with two sureties.

FIC CEO advises Shatta after his release

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that the FIC CEO advised Shatta Wale after he was released from EOCO's detention.

In a video, Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo called on the musician to desist from any financial crimes that could see him get extradited to the US.

The FIC CEO also questioned Shatta Wale's decision to purchase a Lamborghini Urus despite his significant achievements.
