Her funeral was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in a ceremony that was attended by many of her industry colleagues.

John Dumelo, Vivian Jill, Selassie Ibrahim, Afia Akoto, Bibi Bright, Fiifi Coleman, Joselyn Dumas and many others all appeared at the funeral to support Ngissah.

Mavis Adjei also turned up to stand with her colleague in a move that was praised by many.

Adjei showed up at the Thanksgiving service for Ngissah’s mother on Sunday, August 17, dressed in simple attire that matched the solemn nature of the occasion.

She made the rounds at the event, greeting many of her colleagues whom she had not met in some time.

Adjei’s beauty and elegance won plaudits online as many fans drooled over her appearance.

She was praised for retaining her youthful looks despite being out of the movie scene for well over a decade.

A native of Akwatia, Mavis Adjei rose to fame in the early to mid-2000s, appearing in some of the most popular movies of the time.

Her breakout role in Obaapa, alongside Agya Koo, endeared her to fans all accross the country.

She played the role of Sarah, the wife of an impotent Master Small (Agya Koo), who tried to have a child through an extra-marital affair.

The movie starred other Kumawoo heavyweights of the time including Mercy Asiedu and Borga Sylvia, caught her in the act.

A contemporary of Nana Ama McBrown, Agya Koo, Mercy Asiedu, Borga Sylvia, and Emelia Brobbey, among others, Adjei featured in over 25 films, including Kumasi Yonkuor, Love & Politics, and Church Money.
