Little girl meets President Mahama
An emotional moment unfolded at the Thanksgiving service held in honour of the late Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and the eight Ghana Air Force officers who tragically lost their lives in the August 6 military helicopter crash.
The service, held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Christ the King Catholic Parish in Accra, drew dignitaries, politicians, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their respects.
During the solemn ceremony, a little girl captured the hearts of many when she courageously broke protocol to approach President John Dramani Mahama and Lordina Mahama.
In a heartwarming scene caught on video, the young girl knelt before the couple, engaging with them in an innocent but deeply touching exchange.
President Mahama, visibly moved, placed his hand gently on her head and smiled as they interacted. Lordina Mahama, seated by her husband, also beamed warmly at the little one, embracing her kindness.
The Thanksgiving Service was part of a series of ceremonies following the Black Star Square state funeral on August 15, where the late officers were given full military honours and posthumous promotions. Murtala Mohammed’s youngest daughter weeps
