The Ghana Armed Forces account on TikTok shared a video of Ghanaians experiencing a military helicopter as they got an aerial tour of the capital.

Ghanaians fly in Ghana Air Force helicopter
In the video sighted on TikTok, Ghanaians were seen boarding the Ghana Armed Forces helicopter before embarking on their tour.
The military mentioned that the type of helicopter they boarded was the Ghana Air Force Mi-17, similar to the one that crashed in Adansi Akrofuom on August 6, 2025.
That incident, unfortunately, claimed the lives of eight people, including the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah.
Experiencing what it felt like to ride in a military helicopter, Ghanaians on board were captured looking through the window as the chopper hovered across the capital.
While in the air, the pilot was seen displaying his talent as he flew in circles, went up into the sky and dived with the chopper's nose pointing down.
Military personnel dressed in an official uniform were also seen taking pictures of the Ghanaians who had boarded the flight.
Reactions to citizens boarding GAF helicopter
Many people were scared for the lives of the Ghanaians who had boarded the chopper as the pilot displayed in the video, because the video surfaced at a time of national tragedy.
Others also opined that the pilot was very talented and were impressed with his handling of the aircraft, wishing that he were the one who flew the eight victims to Obuasi.

22-year-old Ghanaian pilot shares tips

Her post came during a period of national grief following the tragic military helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, which claimed eight lives, including senior ministers and military personnel.
Many viewers who saw the video praised Flygirlramii for her professionalism and skill in the demonstration, while others sent messages of encouragement and also prayed for her safety each time she took to the skies.
