According to Mikki Osei Berko, Daddy Lumba's songs helped shape him into the prominent figure he is. He noted that he viewed the Aben Ho Ha hitmaker more as a family member than a regular musician.
He said:
"I am struggling to cope with what has happened. This is bigger than me because Daddy Lumba has been the only musician I have known since I was a child. My life was shaped by Daddy Lumba's songs, advice, and words of encouragement he shared with Ghana and the world."
"I lived my life according to some of the things he said. Lumba was not just a musician. He was like my elder brother, father, and uncle because he was part of the people who helped some of us to reach where we are at the moment."
The veteran actor shared that he received the news of Daddy Lumba's demise while he was on the set of a movie. He said he was completely shattered and could not work for over two hours.
