Controversial media personality Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, and Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, and his deputy, Patricia Appiagyei, have paid their respects to the late music legend Daddy Lumba.
The team, which also included the second Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Jerry Ahmed, and a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party, Afia Akoto, visited the late musician's residence to sign a book of condolence.

Apostle Okai praises NPP’s thoughtful gesture
Reacting to this in an interview with YEN.com.gh, Apostle Eric Okai, senior pastor at the Elim Church in Accra, stated that the visit by the NPP leadership showed respect and appreciation for Daddy Lumba's contributions to Ghanaian culture and society.
He added that the visit could bring comfort and solace to the family during a difficult time, acknowledging the impact of Daddy Lumba's legacy on the nation.

Kennedy Agyapong weeps at Daddy Lumba's house
Kennedy Agyapong, the well-known Ghanaian businessman popularly called Kenpong, paid a visit to Daddy Lumba's residence to offer his condolences to the family following his untimely passing.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Agyapong, a close friend of the late musician, went to Lumba’s East Legon home to express his sympathies to the musician’s wife, Priscilla Ofori Atta, and other grieving family members.
In a video shared by YEN.com.gh, the business magnate, dressed in an all-black ensemble, appeared visibly moved, breaking down in tears as he departed from the residence.
A sombre Kennedy Agyapong, also the CEO of Kenpong Travel and Tours, chose not to engage with the media as he made his way to his luxury vehicle.
Before leaving the area, he paused to greet media personality Valerie Danso with a handshake.
The emotional footage sparked an outpouring of sorrow from Ghanaians on social media, with many expressing their sadness over the businessman’s emotional display.

Former President Agyekum Kufuor eulogises Daddy Lumba
YEN.com.gh reported that former President John Agyekum Kufuor mourned highlife legend Daddy Lumba, describing his passing as a thunderbolt.
Kufuor mentioned that he was unaware that Daddy Lumba had been unwell, which made the news even more painful and difficult to accept.
The ex-president, a fan of Lumba’s music, extended his condolences to the late singer’s family and praised his legacy.
